Side Wheel button (pressed, not pushed fwd or back) - calls up the tool palet Side to side on top button - page left and right Side Wheel (one click in each direction pushed fwd or back) zooms in and out. Also works in popup menus and selection lists! Never use Logitech's control panel - it is a total waste of time. I use the MX Revolution (Logitech) with Steer Mouse (shareware). I find a good multi-button mouse running great software a much faster way to work, especially in Finale and Digital Performer. Navigating page to page was great (swiping) and having a flat hand position was nice. Contrary to the name, it is a full featured trackpad and pen tablet and much larger than the Apple thing. Not the Apple trackpad, but I did buy the Wacom Bamboo Fun last week. To me, it's an improvement over the mouse. I'm very happy with it and I find it a little bit quicker and slightly less straining on the hand.īut it takes a little bit of getting used to.Ī little trouble with right clicks (I prefer to actually click rather than tap because I find it too sensitive) I have been using the magic trackpad for over one week now. Using this in conjunction with QuicKeys is a great way of working in Finale. But it is so user-configurable that I'm sure it can be set up to do that. I haven't yet tried it in page view to see if I can get to other pages just as easily. In scroll view you can swipe left and right and the score moves correspondingly. Tapping once to click, option-tapping to open contextual menus all work well. It is a work- and time-saver but it is awfully sensitive because I have it set to be that way. I am currently using the magic trackpad with F2K10 and F2K11, and I'm happy to report that it works fine for every gesture in Finale. The original version of this page can be found at : ĭoes it make sense for programmes with precision mousing, or is it just one of those gadgets?
